After parking her green Nissan Xterra in the street next to the building a nervous, yet excited Charlie exited her vehicle and took in what was her first impression of the place. It was an office building, like many she had seen but it somehow seemed inviting, like it was charged with a beautiful energy that she couldn't describe if someone had demanded it of the girl. As she slowly opened the doors she was met with the most inviting scent that immediately put her at ease. Charlie's hazel eyes scanned the room but didn't find any signs of life. "Hello" she called out inquisitively, perhaps she had come at a bad time. "Okay, I'll just sit down on this chair, I hope that's all right." The brunette called out once again before sitting down in the comfortable plush chair next to a large bookshelf. As she sat down she set her briefcase down next to her feet. It felt a little silly to be carrying such an item to a place like this, but she wanted to show them her PharmD and her Pharmacy License in hopes she could be of some help in this place.

As usual around here, the work never ended, and Lauren found herself elbow deep in Laundry water when she heard someone calling from the entryway. Shit! she cursed the lack of idle hands around this place and dreamed about the day she would be able to assign someone strictly to administration. For now though, that just wasn't a viable option, so she dried her hands and straightened her shirt and hair as much as she could before going out to greet the woman.
She almost stopped dead in her tracks when she spotted the polished brunette in a plush chair near the office with a briefcase near her feet. Oh NO! her gut screamed in rebellion but she forced herself to keep moving forward with a smile on her face. She knew she could not afford to have a pencil pushing codes worker, or anyone else for that matter, giving her hell, not this early in the life of her little community, and she had worked way to hard up to this point to let it go without a fight. She approached cautiously, with the most charismatic face she could muster, and laid a hand gently on the woman's shoulder. "Excuse me, can I help you?" Maybe she was another reporter, and gods knew this place could use all the help it could get. Maybe some more publicity wouldn't be a bad thing.

Charlie smiled as the woman entered the room, but noticed her eyes quickly darting to the briefcase. She knew she should have put it in a folder or something, but alas here she was and it was too late to change her choices. Charlie sighed before speaking, "Don't mind that it's just my credentials. You see I'm a Pharmacist, I don't know if you could use any medical help around here but I thought I should bring them to prove I'm competent." The brunette nervously said as she wrung her hands, before remembering her manners. "I'm Charlie by the way, you must be Lauren. I saw you in the paper." The twenty-six year old extended her hand for a shake. The brunette thought to herself for a few minutes before opening her pale pink lips again "I can do many other things, I'm proficient at gardening and not too shabby at sewing also." The woman added, hoping her first impression had ruined her chances at living in what she considered the true way humans were meant to live.

"Oh," Lauren laughed, breathing a sigh of relief. She wished that she could play it off and pretend she wasn't horrified by the presentation of said credentials, but it seemed the cat was out of the bag on that one now. At least it made sense now though. If this woman was a pharmacist, she must be used to a more formal setting when looking for work. Truthfully, Lauren was a little puzzled that she would be looking for work here at all, as pharmaceuticals were exactly the opposite of everything she had built this community to represent. Still, she was open-minded enough to hear what the woman had to say. "Actually, we could use someone on hand to handle an medical issues that come up, but we don't use any lab-created treatments here," This woman seemed to know what this place was and what they were all about, but she just wanted to be clear on that part. "Are you familiar with natural alternatives?"
It felt strange to be recognized so easily. She still wasn't used to being such a local celebrity, and she honestly wasn't all that comfortable with the whole thing. Still, it was good for the community, and they did need the help, "That's me," she smiled her brightest smile, "It's nice to meet you Charlie." As the woman nervously threw out a few more of her useful skills, Lauren realized they seemed to have gotten off to the wrong foot. There was no need for either of them to be this tense, so after they shook hands, she settled into another seat next to her. This way at least they would be at eye level with each other and maybe they could both relax a little bit.
